Travel Medicine And Vaccinations

Are you travelling soon?!

Don’t let illness ruin your holiday.

Now is the time to start getting ready for your trip! Many countries will require you to be immunised against diseases that are not common to Australia. You doctor will be able to advise you of the vaccinations and other travel requirements you will need to stay protected on your trip.

Not sure what vaccinations you have had in the past and what you need for your trip? Click here to check and then organise a travel advice consultation with your GP. Please note some vaccinations require a course that can take several weeks to complete- so allow enough time.

Likewise it is important to know the rules around any medications you are taking into other countries. In some cases you will be required to have a letter from your doctor to prove the medications are yours. Other countries require specific packaging of medications. Click here to read more.

Another good idea is to organise a copy of your health summary or to sign up for the My Health electronic patient record in case you get sick overseas. Your GP can assist you with this information.

Dr Jane Hutson is here to ensure you and your family have a safe and healthy holiday. Book your travel advice consultation today – you don’t even have to wait until we are open, you can book online.
